The Internet sometimes is extremely powerful to maintain and promote a small nation like Catalonia. Last Tuesday I was at the NaciĆ³.Cat’s presentation, a book that explains how a group of people worked in silence during months to make the ICANN accept the Internet domain name .CAT for all the WebPages in Catalan, one of the four languages in Spain.
Some data about what have the Catalan culture reached with its .CAT after 2 years since its approval:
– Catalan is the 23d language more used in the Internet (is the 88th spoken language in the world)
– There are 24.000 WebPages registered with the .CAT domain name
Congratulations to the General Director of the Catalan News Agency, Saül Gordillo, the writer of the book and a reference as a political blogger.
